Austin Symphonic Band is honored to be invited to perform at the TBA Convention!

Come and immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of sounds with pieces like Percy Fletcher's Vanity Fair and the lively “Tex-Mex on the Riverwalk” from Frank Ticheli's San Antonio Dances. Feel the polyphony of Safely Rest by Nicole Piunno and be swept away by the mystery of You'll Come Matilda by Jess Langston Turner. With guest conductors Richard Floyd and Frank Ticheli wielding the baton, this event promises to be a memorable musical journey.

Celebrate the Fourth of July with patriotic music and fireworks! Each piece, from the stirring America the Beautiful to the lively Tex-Mex on the Riverwalk, is a tribute to the nation's heritage and diversity. The military service medley, Armed Forces Salute, honors our brave service members and leaves everyone with a sense of pride and gratitude.

After dark the sky will be ablaze with fireworks, each burst accompanied by the rousing melodies of John Philip Sousa's iconic marches. Music and patriotism combine to create an unforgettable experience.

Father's Day Concert

Celebrate Father’s Day with a musical treat! The concert opens on an upbeat tone with the lively Vanity Fair by Percy Fletcher. The mood shifts to the inspiring Lift Up Your Heads by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, followed by the festive landscapes of Clifton Jones' Hill Country Festival. Frank Ticheli's Over the Moon sets a celestial note, while Jess Langston Turner's You'll Come Matilda adds a touch of mystery. Finally, Sousa’s Invincible Eagle and The Stars and Stripes Forever create a surge of patriotic pride.

The concert is free and open to the public. There are public restrooms nearby and a playground for the kids. Bring the whole family!

A Sousa Spectacular!

Join the Austin Symphonic Band, the Sugar Land Winds and the Mansfield Wind Symphony for A Sousa Spectacular! The guest conductor and lecturer will be Loras John Schissel, Senior Musicologist at the Library of Congress and conductor of both the Virginia Grand Military Band and the Cleveland Orchestra’s Blossom Festival Band.

Tickets: $20 online (plus ticket processing fees) | $25 at the door

Mother's Day Concert

This concert has been moved indoors due to inclement weather. Join us for a Mother’s Day celebration at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church.

The air will be filled with a diverse blend of melodies and rhythms, from the rich, complex layers of Ponchielli's Sinfonia to the stirring patriotic strains of Sousa’s marches. Ticheli’s lively Tex-Mex on the Riverwalk and the elegant Jazz Suite by Shostakovich promise to keep toes tapping, while Gershwin’s timeless tunes evoke a nostalgic charm.

This exciting program includes the world premiere of (Delusions of) Grandeur by Christopher Lowry, winner of the first annual Young Composers' Contest; and the first performance of Hill Country Festival by Clifton Jones, composed in honor of Bill Haehnel’s 20th anniversary as ASB’s Assistant Conductor.

You’ll hear a variety of other great music, from the jazzy New Wade’n Water by Adolphus Hailstork, to Franz Biebl’s solemn Ave Maria, to Frank Ticheli’s dazzling Blue Shades. Come and enjoy an evening of musical excellence with the Austin Symphonic Band!

Take a musical voyage through the seas, with concert works that express the beauty and adventure of the ocean, and the courage of those who go “Down to the Sea in Ships.” You'll hear classics like Anchors Aweigh, Sea Songs and Who's Who in Navy Blue, as well as modern masterpieces like Mare Tranquillitatis and Midway March. You'll also enjoy a symphonic scenario of the beloved musical South Pacific, with songs like “Some Enchanted Evening,” “Bali Ha'i,” and “There is Nothin' Like a Dame.”
