If you had the opportunity to see any Austin Opera productions this past concert season, then perhaps you spotted some of Austin Symphonic Band’s members! Six of our regular performers were part of the onstage banda for Austin Opera’s production of La Bohème this past Spring at the Long Center.
2017 Guest Artist Tito Carrillo
ASB featured guest artist at the February 19, 2017 concert, Tito Carrillo is the long-time "First Call" jazz trumpet recording artist in Chicago. He is a trumpeter, educator, bandleader, composer, and arranger, and since 1996 has been a fixture in the Chicago jazz and Latin music scenes. He joined the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign faculty in 2006 and is currently an associate professor of jazz trumpet.
