Austin Symphonic Band is delighted to present its Father’s Day Concert, entitled “American Visions,” and introduce Guest Conductor Dr. Brett Richardson.

Due to an Excessive Heat Warning, this concert has been moved indoors

With classic works for band along with works representing the future of the American wind ensemble: the Austin Symphonic Band presents a concert under the baton of Dr. Brett A. Richardson. Celebrate dads of all kinds with this annual concert. Enjoy a variety of marches, patriotic melodies, and other cheerful concert band works that will have your Dad's toe tappin'—as well as your own!


Meet Guest Conductor
Dr. Brett A. Richardson

Dr. Brett A. Richardson is the Coordinator of Music Education/ Director of Bands and Associate Professor of Music at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, and the Conductor and Artistic Director of the San Antonio Harmonie Ensemble. He holds a DM in Wind Conducting from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, an M.Mus. with emphasis in Wind Conducting from Texas A&M University—Commerce, and a BME from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Dr. Richardson is a member of the Texas Bandmasters Association, the Texas Music Educators Association, the College Band Directors National Association, and numerous other professional societies. Recent honors include the 2019 UIW Provost’s Legacy in Teaching Award and election into Phi Beta Mu International Honorary Bandmasters fraternity.
