ASB Announces Inaugural Young Composers Contest
Austin, TX:
The Austin Symphonic Band announces its inaugural Young Composers Contest, carrying a financial award of $2,500. American composers age 35 or younger are eligible to apply. The deadline for applications is November 1, 2022.
To apply, candidates are asked to submit previously-composed works for large ensemble, which will then be reviewed by a panel of adjudicators. The winning composer will be commissioned to write a new piece for band, which will be premiered at an ASB concert in the 2023–2024 season.
