From the Board President
Hi All,
I hope you are having a great week!
We have 2 more rehearsals in 2022, so let's make sure we are attentive in our rehearsals (stopping when Kyle wants us to, not talking when Kyle stops us, etc.). Also, when we get back in January, we will only have 5 more rehearsals plus a dress rehearsal, so the concert will be here before we know it.
I'm happy to report that we made $3775 for Giving Tuesday. I think this is a great amount in spite of everything going on. Thanks to all who either donated or got the word out to Donate!
We had a great Board Meeting last night. We discussed the Young Composer Contest - the team is looking at the 60 (or so) applicants and are paring them down to what they feel are at the top. We will have our final choice made in the next two weeks - I'm looking forward to the candidate we choose.
We also discussed a new Search Committee we are putting together - Lisa has let us know that she is stepping down as ED to give her energies to her personal life. I'll let her get into more details in her Announcement Section. Speaking for ASB and the Board, we really appreciate everything she has done for ASB helping us come out of Covid along with working with PFISD due to all the changes made once we started up again.
So that is about all from here. Have a great weekend and I'll see you Tuesday!

From the Executive Director
Hello, ASB Family.
As Allan has already mentioned, I recently handed in my letter of resignation which will be effective on February 1st, 2023.
I know that this may come as a surprise to many. However, due to a handful of recent personal changes, I have concluded that I no longer have the capacity to continue in this role and need to turn my focus homeward and to family. I want ASB to continue on this promising trajectory of success and I would like to help our Board find someone who can move forward with the care and devotion this organization deserves.
I appreciate the time I spent working here as ED. I have learned a lot in the role about the ins and outs of running a non profit arts organization and I especially enjoyed diving into marketing, development, web content, community engagement, and special projects. Perhaps most of all I valued the relationships with our conductors, our board, and our devoted volunteers, musicians, and partners. Not to mention, playing with all of you on Tuesday nights for the last year and a half has been a true joy. I know the knowledge and relationships gained here will be a benefit throughout my career and I am thankful for the opportunity.
I wanted to inform the board two months ahead so that the organization will have enough time to transition successfully, especially given the hustle of the holiday season. I would be happy to train my replacement and any volunteers who the board assigns to take on additional responsibilities. I plan to complete my duties these last two months to the best of my abilities and am happy to do whatever I can to aid in the transition.
I hope to stay in touch in the future and wish ASB continued success going forward.
Sincerely,
Lisa
